AK-47: The AK-47 is the biggest disappointment in Modern Warfare.Sadly, damage isn’t as important as fire rate in Modern Warfare, due to the fast TTK, so it’s down in tier four. Oden: If this was a Black Ops game, the Oden might very well be a tier 1 weapon. When fighting enemies up close it has its uses but you’re better off with an Assault Rifle with a faster fire rate.
It trades a tiny bit of damage for more accuracy and a higher fire rate, so we’d argue it’s the better of the two. M4A1: The M4A1 is a very similar weapon to the Kilo 141.You’ll use it a lot in the beginning and drop it as soon as you’ve unlocked the others. It’s got solid damage, recoil, and fire rate, and is only really let down by the better options in this list. Kilo 141: The Kilo 141 is the default Assault Rifle in Modern Warfare, and it’s a highly competitive option. In fact, the burst is the only real downside of the weapon, as it slightly suffers in close range if you’re not deadly accurate. It’s got the highest fire rate out of all Assault Rifles, solid damage, and the three round burst helps keep recoil to a minimum. FR 5.56: If you’re a good shot, the FR 5.56 is unbeatable in its class. It also features very manageable recoil, so you should have no trouble keeping the kills coming at medium range. It features the second best fire rate in its class but isn’t let down by a three bullet burst like the FR 5.56. M13: It doesn’t get much better than the M13 in terms of Assault Rifles in Modern Warfare.Pretty useful in a game mode like Warzone with wide open distances to fire over, and with only a Tier 15 unlock definitely in players' hands much quicker than the AS Val. 308 or Lapua rounds equipped, the marksman rifle has very little bullet drop and travel time, giving the feeling of it being a hitscan sniper. The AS Val isn't the only powerful weapon to be added in Season 6, as other players have found the SP-R 208 to also have an extremely powerful shot profile. But this amount of damage retention after that many surface penetrations isn't normal, and many are already asking the developers to fix what could only be caused by a bug in the way attachments are interacting on the AS Val. In some cases, players have recorded themselves getting kills with the AS Val from across multiplayer maps by aiming at the enemy spawn through a conservative estimate of 8 different walls in two buildings.Īrmor penetration isn't new, and FMJ rounds can be equipped to many weapons to give them a better chance of punching through armor plates or securing wallbang kills. However those that have been grinding (or buying) their way up the reward ladder have discovered that instead of equipping the subsonic rounds that were also added with the new gun, you can turn it into a devastating, wall-ignoring death dealer.Įquipping the SPP 10-round magazine to the AS Val adds a frankly ridiculous amount of penetration to your shots, in some cases able to breeze through multiple concrete walls seemingly without losing damage. It's not that widespread at the moment, since the new AS Val assault rifle is only unlocked at Tier 31 of the season pass rewards. The AS Val was one of two new weapons added to CoD's dual multiplayer setup of Modern Warfare and the battle royale, Warzone, alongside the SP-R 208 marksman rifle (which also has its problems).
Call of duty modern warfare weapons update#
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone got their Season 6 update this week, adding plenty of fun new toys and (at least) one unbelievably OP new weapon that isn't quite as fun.
